ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSE PROTECTION

Responsible Vendors, Inc. teaches the laws and liabilities inherent in working in a place where alcohol is either served, sold or consumed to those in the Food & Beverage Industry who play a significant role in the sale or service of alcohol, even in an indirect way. The Responsible Vendor Program which we administer is based on Florida's Responsible Vendor Act, FL Statutes 561.702-706, enacted to reduce the sale of alcohol to underage patrons, to reduce alcohol related accidents, injuries and deaths and to eliminate illegal drug activity on licensed premises. Although not mandatory, when in compliance, it provides mitigation and exemption from suspension and revocation of an alcoholic beverage license for the illegal acts of employees in serving alcohol to underage customers and for illegal drug activity. More important, the program provides valuable training so that your staff is better informed about serving alcohol responsibly and so that they are less likely to break the law.

 

FLORIDA FOOD HANDLER TRAINING

 

As you probably already know, Florida has a law (509.049) which requires all employees working in a public food service establishment to complete a food handler certification course within 60 days of their date of hire. We can conduct the initial training for you. If you already trained your current staff, we can keep up with training your new hires! Our training is conducted throughout the state of Florida on a regular basis. Of course, our program is an approved one and our instructors are all certified food managers. They provide the required training with regard to safety and sanitation, the prevention of food borne illness and cross contamination, personal hygiene, proper hand washing, food borne hazards and many other pertinent topics. We issue the certification cards for each employee and then provide the establishment with a report reflecting every employee who attended the training as well as a certificate for the property to display. Meetings are then provided for where you may send your new hires to within the 60 day requirement from the time they are hired. The certification is good for three years and should include all dishwashers, cooks, hosts, servers, bartenders, bussers, barbacks, expeditors and managers (those with current food manager certification cards may be excluded). Our instructors are multi-lingual and can therefore teach in different languages.
